Soul Street will take place in Dening Park and Jonson Street in Byron Bay on Wednesday 31st December. Jonson Street will be activated from 4pm and live music will start at Dening Park at 6pm. 

Yes, all the live performance, roving, workshops and activations are free. No tickets required. 

Yes, we will be having a selection of local food vendors at Dening Park for this year's event. You can complete the Vendor call out form located here. 

The Soul Street food stalls will be open from 6.00pm – 12.00am at Dening Park on Wednesday 31 December 2025. Please take note of the following before submitting your expression of interest. A fee of *$150.00 for market/food stall holders and *$250.00 for food trucks will be charged per area Stallholders are required to supply their own table, chairs, gazebos, water, power and lighting Stallholders are required to have their own Public Liability Insurance (minimum of 10 million) and a current certificate will be requested as part of your form submission Stallholders and food trucks producing food cooked onsite are required to have a current food license which will be requested as part of your form submission All cooking areas and food trucks will be required to supply their own tarp to be placed under their cooking areas This is a single use, plastic free event

The event organisers will strive to provide as many paid opportunities as possible. 

The capacity at Jonson Street is currently 4500 people and Dening Park is 3500. 

We will update this information closer to the event to ensure it is accurate and applicable to the event. 

Soul Street will operate under whatever government regulations are required on the date of the event. We look forward to keeping the community safe.

This event is made for families, bring the kids and bring the grandparents. Participate in the workshops, capture memories in the Selfie Walk and enjoy the best local music Byron Bay has to offer.  

Soul street is dedicated to responsibly managing the waste generated over New Years Eve. We will have designated bin stations set up for disposal of recyclables (bottles and cans) and landfill. We will also be working with stall holders to make sure they are using the best possible materials that we can recover or recycle.

It requires all of us to take care of the local environment, so we encourage people to bring their own reusable items, sort waste appropriately, reading signage or asking staff and volunteers.

Firstly compostable and biodegradable are different. If an item is truly compostable, it is made from natural materials and can break down in the right conditions. Biodegradable items are not necessarily made of 100% natural materials and can sometimes have plastic in them. They are made with an additive to help them break down without oxygen.

It isn’t always clear if items are compostable, there are no rules around labelling. They can impact the quality of the compost depending on what they are made of. Compostable items require using natural resources, land and transport and they are only used for a short period of time. The environmental footprint of single-use compostable is often still larger than reusable.

There are too many types of coffee cups, which creates a lot of contamination. They cannot be recycled, because they are made of paper and have a lining of plastic, bioplastic, PLA.

There is nothing more or less safe about reusables. It’s all about having the systems in place like with a café or restaurant. In many cases reusables can be more safe because they require less handling. They are freshly sterilised when they go to the vendors. Retail food service is highly regulated and reusable systems must meet strict safety and hygiene requirements

Some people are reluctant to embrace reusables because they may not be used to them, but there was a time when drinking hot beverages out of sippy cups was new. Once we understand and utilise reuse systems that make more and more sense.

Yes, the Account Area is a password protected environment. If you are concerned that you have lost your password, or wish to change your password, you can reset it here (or navigate to the Account Area login page and click the Forgot Password button).

Login to the Account Area and click on “My Details” in the Account Area sidebar.

Try logging in and see if you can remember what email address you might have used; our system will tell you if the email address you enter does not exist in our system. Otherwise you can contact us and we can look up your email address in our system; before doing this we will need to verify your identity.

Passwords are case sensitive, so check whether you have the Caps-Lock key on and try entering your password again. If this still doesn't work or you think you have forgotten your password, you can reset it here (or navigate to the Account Area login page and click the Forgot Password button).

You should receive an email within a few minutes of submitting your online Account registration form. This email includes a link which must be clicked in order to validate your registration. Clicking on this link double-checks that your email address has been correctly recorded and ensures you will receive important news and exclusive offers about the event/s.

When a large number of people are registering at once it may take up to half an hour to receive the confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, contact us and we'll ensure your registration is completed.

Once e-tickets are available to download from the Account Area the tickets will be stored and remain safe and secure for the life of the ticket, and therefore there is no rush to download. To download these tickets, just login to the Account Area, click on “My Tickets” in the Account Area sidebar. From this page you can choose to Download or Email your E-tickets.

To download your ticket/s you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have it installed, you can download it for free from: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html

You can print your E-tickets on your home printer in black and white or colour, on standard A4 paper. Please ensure that the barcode has printed correctly, otherwise we might be unable to scan your ticket correctly at the gate. Once printed, please read the terms and conditions.

If you have purchased more than one E-ticket, you will need to name the tickets you purchased for the other patrons that will accompany you. This is because in order to gain entry to your event, the name of your ticket must match the name of your ID. To name your tickets, login to the Account Area, click on “My Tickets” in the Account Area sidebar. From this page you can click the “Name” button next to each ticket and enter the name of the person it will belong to. Once you are done you can use the “Download All” to download your individually named tickets as a single PDF ready for printing.

If you haven't received your E-Tickets via email within half an hour, please check to see if your mailbox is full or if the email is in your spam folder.

You can also check that your email address is entered correctly in your Account Area, by clicking the My Details button in the Account Area sub-menu. Alternatively, you should contact us and we will be able to help you work out why you didn’t receive your tickets and assist in ensuring you receive these as soon as possible.

Note, that you can also download your E-Tickets from your Account Area by going to My Tickets and then click the View Order Details link.

On the day of the event simply take your E-ticket/s with you as you would for any event ticket. Please present your E-ticket on arrival at the entry gate. The name on your E-ticket must match the name on your ID.
